From far away, even from as far away as Rimini, it is possible to see a huge and imposing fortress that stands on one of the highest hills of the Conca Valley, surrounded by a sea of green. This is the fortress of Montefiore, one of the most important villages in the lands of the Malatesta. Inside its walls, its churches and narrow streets hide precious works of art and the traditional craft of pottery. The top of the hamlet dominates the entire coast and the sea seems only a stone’s throw away. Its countryside, covered in olive groves and oak trees, invites visitors to take walks along ancient paths. All this makes Montefiore a place that will be diffi cult to forget.
